TD Ameritrade and Schwab Merger Update

In 2019, Charles Schwab acquired TD Ameritrade.  Because of the size and scope of the merger, the integration has been slow and methodical to ensure a smooth transition.  While technically your TD account is already part of the Charles Schwab institution since the purchase is already complete, there will be a transition in September of this year where you will see branding change to reflect Charles Schwab and your account number will change to conform with the account number conventions used by Charles Schwab. All of this is largely formality.

All of your account features will remain in place, your investment strategy will remain intact, the fund companies we work with will remain in place, and most importantly, we will continue to work closely together on all of your financial needs.

As part of the preparation for the transition, if you have a TD Ameritrade account with us, it is likely that you will receive periodic communications regarding your account.  These communications may occasionally sound complex and confusing.  Know that if there is ever anything you need to do, we will connect with you directly. However, if you do ever have any questions please do not hesitate to reach out.

The Orion app and website will not change, and your login will remain the same. To go directly to the Schwab site, starting on July 31st, you will have an opportunity to create login credentials for the new site. In August, we can help walk you through that process if you have any questions.

In short, there is nothing you need to do regarding your TD Ameritrade account at this time.
